Terms of Use

Our games are free to play and supported by ads in the mobile apps. These terms are the rules for using them. Please read them, especially section 15, which explains how disputes are resolved and how you can opt out of arbitration.

Last updated: October 23, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and VigilGuard LLC, a California limited liability company doing business as Jumbletale ("Jumbletale", "we", "us"). They apply to all Jumbletale games on the Apple App Store and Google Play, the web versions of our games, and the website jumbletale.com (together, the "Services"). By downloading, installing, opening or playing any of the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. Who can play

The Services are made for a general audience. If you are under the age of majority where you live, please review these Terms with a parent or guardian, who agrees to them on your behalf and is responsible for your use. If you are a parent or guardian, you are responsible for deciding whether the Services are suitable for your child.

3. Your license to play

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Services on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment, in line with these Terms and the rules of the app store you got them from. You may not:

  • copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the Services or any part of them;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or modify the apps, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
  • remove, block or interfere with ads, or with copyright, trademark or other notices;
  • use cheats, bots, automation or exploits, or interfere with the Services, their security, or other players;
  • use the Services for anything unlawful, or to build a competing product from our content.

The license ends automatically if you break these Terms. When it ends, you must stop using and delete the Services.

4. Ownership

The Services, including the games, code, artwork, logos, puzzles, levels, text and sounds, belong to VigilGuard LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. "Jumbletale" and our game names and logos are our trademarks. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to you.

Some parts of the Services are open-source software, fonts, word lists or dictionaries provided by others under their own licenses. Those licenses govern those parts, and the required notices are included with the Services. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under those licenses.

5. Ads

The iOS and Android apps are free because they show ads, provided by Google AdMob. We show only occasional full-screen ads between rounds. Ads are provided by third parties: we do not control or endorse what is advertised, and any dealings you have with an advertiser are between you and that advertiser. How ads use information, and your choices, are explained in our Privacy Policy. The website and the web versions of our games have no ads.

6. Purchases

The games are free to play. If an app offers an optional in-app purchase (such as removing ads), the purchase is processed by Apple or Google under their terms, and refunds are handled by them under their policies. A purchase gives you a license to the feature in that app, not ownership of it, and it may not be restorable if you delete the app and the store cannot restore it. Prices may change.

7. Your progress and settings

Your scores, progress and settings are stored only on your device or in your browser. We do not keep a copy, so we cannot restore them if you delete the app, clear your browser data, change devices, or if an update or device problem erases them.

8. Play safely

  • Never play while driving, walking in traffic, or doing anything that needs your attention. A game about driving is still just a game.
  • Games with face control use your camera only with your permission and process the picture on your device (see the Privacy Policy). Play in a safe place where moving your head is comfortable, and stop if you feel any strain.
  • Photosensitivity warning: a small number of people may experience seizures when exposed to flashing lights or patterns, including in video games, even with no history of epilepsy. If you or anyone in your family has such a condition, ask a doctor before playing. Stop immediately and seek medical advice if you notice dizziness, altered vision, eye or muscle twitches, loss of awareness, disorientation or convulsions.
  • Take regular breaks.

9. Sharing

Some games let you share a picture of your results or a photo you took during play. Sharing is always your choice and goes through your device's share sheet or the service you pick. You are responsible for what you share and must have the right to share it, including permission from anyone else who appears in a photo. The service you share to applies its own terms.

10. Feedback

We love hearing ideas. If you send us suggestions or feedback, you agree we may use them freely, without any obligation to you.

11. Changes and availability

We may update, change, suspend or stop any game or feature, including levels, rules, scoring and ads, at any time, with or without notice. Updates may be required to keep playing. We do not promise that any game will remain available on any store, device or browser.

12. Apple, Google and other third parties

The Services rely on third-party services such as the Apple App Store, Google Play, Google AdMob, your browser and social networks. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them.

If you got an app from the Apple App Store: these Terms are between you and VigilGuard LLC only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims, and for investigating, defending, settling and discharging any claim that the app or your use of it infringes a third party's intellectual property rights. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must also comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary. Where these Terms conflict with Apple's Usage Rules, the Usage Rules control.

13. Disclaimer

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", FOR ENTERTAINMENT ONLY. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT PROGRESS WILL BE PRESERVED. WORD LISTS AND DICTIONARIES ARE FOR PLAY AND MAY CONTAIN ERRORS; DIFFICULTY LEVELS ARE A GUIDE, NOT A CLASSIFICATION. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE EXCLUSIONS, SO SOME MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VIGILGUARD LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROGRESS, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR US $50. THESE LIMITS DO NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW, SUCH AS FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, OR FOR FRAUD.

15. Disputes: informal resolution, arbitration and class action waiver

Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights.

Talk to us first. Most concerns can be solved quickly. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to email support@jumbletale.com with a description of the issue and what you are asking for, and to give us 60 days to try to resolve it informally. We will do the same before bringing a claim against you.

Binding individual arbitration. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and we agree that any dispute, claim or controversy arising from or relating to the Services or these Terms will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. The arbitration will take place in the county where you live or by video or telephone, unless both parties agree otherwise. Payment of filing and arbitration fees will be governed by the AAA's rules; we will pay any fees that the AAA rules require a business to pay. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could, but only to you individually.

Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies, and either party may ask a court for an injunction to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property.

Class action waiver. You and we agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding. If this waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim must be decided in court, not in arbitration, and the rest of this section still applies.

30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@jumbletale.com with the subject "Arbitration opt-out" within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, giving your name and stating that you opt out. Opting out does not affect the rest of these Terms.

Courts. Any dispute not subject to arbitration will be decided exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction, unless the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live outside the United States, you also keep any protections that the mandatory consumer laws of your country give you.

17. General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them, for example as part of a merger or sale of the business. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 4, 10, 13, 14, 15 and 16) survive. Headings are for convenience only.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Changes apply from that date to use of the Services after it; they do not apply to disputes already notified to us. If you keep using the Services after a change, you accept the new Terms.
